Adele Campell-Power

Adèle  is a captivating performer, passionate teacher and her creativity abounds as a choreographer.  With an extensive performance background, Adèle brings to her students a wealth of knowledge and experience to help guide them on their dance journey.

Adèle is graduated of Mayfield Secondary School of the Arts, University of Toronto (English / History B.A Hons.) and has attained her Sheridan College Musical Theatre Performance diploma where she was the recipient of the George V. Young Acting Award.   She has extensive training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop and holds teaching certification with the R.A.D., I.S.T.D. and C.D.T.A.

Adèle is in demand as an adjudicator and guest choreographer across the G.T.A.  She is thrilled to be a part of the Center Stage family and return to her roots in Georgetown.

Ashley Schofield

Ashley Schofield is a passionate, motivated choreographer and teacher from Toronto, ON. She is the founder and choreographer for Opus Dance Collective, a contemporary company housing pre-professional and professional dancers. Her company debuted her work at the Capezio ACE Awards in both NYC and Los Angeles in front of an influential audience and panel of judges. They have since continued to train and perform across Canada and the US. Ashley’s choreography and company can be seen on NBC’s World of Dance Season 2, as her Opus dancers battled it out amongst the top dancers in the world. She also had the honour of being selected to present a piece of choreography at the APAP Conference in NYC. Thus far, Ashley and Opus Dance Collective are proud to have presented two full-length shows in Toronto - Volume 1: FORE/word and Volume 2: The Introduction. She has also choreographed, directed, styled, and produced multiple digital concept pieces.

Ashley has been recognized for her creative concepts, artistry and choreography at both national and international levels of competition. Her choreography has been displayed across Canada and the US at the YAGP Finals in NYC, the Dance Awards, Global News Morning Show, charitable events and fundraisers, fashion shows, virtual concerts, promotional teams representing retail and media companies, along with numerous studio regional and national competitions.

Miss Schofield attended, by audition, the National Choreographer's Intensive at Utah Valley University. While in attendance, she had the opportunity to work, study and create under the guidance of Nelly van Bommel. Ashley is a certified ADAPT & PBT teacher, and recently completed a course and examination by Intimacy Coordinators of Colour that allows her to act as an Intimacy Captain on set.

Ashley enjoys taking part in many annual industry events including Toronto’s Choreographer’s Ball, Hit The Floor All-Star Showcase, and TKFW (Toronto Kids Fashion Week) - she is also honoured to create work for World Performers Canada, a team that represents Canada at the Dance World Cup in Europe.

Caroline Torti

Caroline Torti has performed on stages worldwide and is sought out as a choreographer by some of the most prestigious dance organizations in North America. Some of her recent credits include Top 14 finalist for the premiere season of “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” and a member of the innovative, renowned dance company Helix Dance Project.

Passion and perseverance have always been at the heart of every step Caroline has taken in her professional dance career. She has performed on stages worldwide, and appeared in movies and on TV.

Some of her recent performance credits include making it to the Top 14 finalist for the premiere season of the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”. Caroline was also a member of the innovative and highly renowned dance company Helix Dance Project, under the artistic direction of Linda Garneau, and worked with acclaimed choreographer Mandy Moore for her piece in “Hysterica” based out of Los Angeles, California.

Caroline has performed in various industrial events for companies such as Bell Mobility, Canon, Sears, and Calvin Klein, as well as charity events such as Fashion Cares Toronto, Steve Nash Charity Game, and Dance For It. She has also had the opportunity to dance in music videos and live performances for artists such as Danny Fernandes, Kreesha Turner, George, Suzy McNeil, and Massari. Caroline has been recognized for her work as a choreographer at regional and national competitions, and has received several choreography scholarships.

Caroline is sought after for her teaching expertise and works at various studios around the Greater Toronto Area in addition to teaching master classes at some of Toronto’s professional studios. Caroline loves working with aspiring young dancers and hopes that she can be a part of their personal growth and artistic development.

Gay Bishop

Gay  Bishop is a graduate of  Ryerson  Theatre  School. She holds her teaching diploma with RAD, is an associate  member of ISTD, and a full member of the CDTA Jazz and  Tap division. She has trained with many outstanding  teachers and choreographers, as well as participated in numerous workshops with companies such as Danny Grossmann, Ballet Jorgen and Momix. Gay has been teaching Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Tap and Jazz in Canada and the USA for over 22 years. Her students have been highly successful in competitions, and Ballet, Tap and Jazz  exams. Many of these students have gone on to pursue  successful careers in dance in post-secondary institutions, as well as performing across Canada, USA, and Europe. Her routines have been awarded many overall awards including Outstanding Choreography.

Gay has enjoyed being a performing member and assistant  artistic director of two movement theatre companies in the USA. Gay has thoroughly enjoyed teaching workshops and adjudicating for many studios, pageants and competitions. Miss Gay is so very proud of all the accomplishments of the competitive team at Maple Academy of Dance.

Hani Abaza

Originally from Jordan, Hani Abaza is a Canadian choreographer,  artistic director, performer and dance educator, whose initial love for dance was kindled while growing up in Ontario, Canada. Today, he is a member of the National Dance Council CID (UNESCO) and is creating and performing across the world, most recently working as the international coordinator and resident choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance Vietnam, bringing continents together through the language of dance.

Hani’s first professional steps were in performing, with credits including dancing for world-renowned artists such as Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Feist, Shawn Desman, Cascada, Jully Black and Florence & The Machine. Most recently he was based in Los Angeles, where his career led him to work with the leading talents of our generation including Travis Wall, Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, Sonya Tayeh, Noemie Lafrance and Luther Brown.

Notable projects are Cirque Du Soleil, MTV Video Music Awards and American Music awards as a performer and So You Think Can Dance Canada as a contestant. Other performing credits include Shaping Sound Dance Company and Sonya Tayeh Dancers.

Alongside dancing, Hani has devoted himself to the art of choreography, creating national award winning pieces and being named one of Capezio’s A.C.E. Awards’ top choreographers in North America for 2009 and 2012. He teaches master classes around the USA, Canada, Dubai, Vietnam and other international locations, sharing his experience and knowledge in the art of dance. Hani’s passion for movement and dance is immeasurable: his unique outlook on dance in life adds a fresh face to movement, and his vision is a relatable innovation of eye candy.

Jay T. Schramek

Jay T is a Dora Mavor Moore Award nominated performer, educator and adjudicator. His twenty-five year teaching career spans Canada’s most prestigious post-secondary arts institutions and dozens of dance studios. A graduate of Ryerson University’s dance program and a former Mr. Dance of Canada, he has been a faculty member at the Randolph College, George Brown College and Saint Lawrence College. Jay has been a guest teacher at Sheridan College, Canada’s National Ballet School, Etobicoke School of the Arts, Pearson School for the Arts, the Eastern Arkansas Ballet, Duboforce Mexico, Metro Movement and the Charlottetown Festival Young Company. He is currently the Tap Director at Dimensions in Dance in Kitchener, a choreographer for the Canadian Tap Team of World Performers and the Director of Programming for the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo.

His professional choreographic credits include: Singin in the Rain (Drayton), The Fan (Odyssey Theatre), The Time of My Life (Soulpepper), The Haunted Hillbilly (Sidemart Theatrical), Little Shop of Horrors (Magnus Theatre) & Dads II (Magnus Theatre).

As a performer, he continues to work in theatres across the continent. He has performed for The Stratford Festival, Mirvish Productions, Capitol Theatre, Charlottetown Festival, Stage West, Drayton Entertainment, Clearchannel Entertainment and dozens more. Some of his favourite roles include: Cosmo in Singin in the Rain, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Bobby in Crazy for You, Skimbleshanks in Cats, Nana in Peter Pan, Pepper in Mamma Mia, Jimmy in White Christmas, Ethan in The Full Monty, Jinx in Forever Plaid, Cecil in Anne of Green Gables, Batboy in Batboy the Musical, Action in West Side Story, Barnaby in Hello Dolly.

An accomplished voice-over actor, Jay is the voice of Platy the Platypus on Arthur (PBS Kids), Data Bot, Build Bot & Garbage Bot on Space Ranger Roger (Family Jr), Mr. Security on Inspector Gadget (Teletoon/Netflix), Felix on Trucktown (Treehouse), Blinky on Willa’s Wild Life (YTV / Discovery), Satoru Kakuta on Slam Dunk and Tad in the animated feature Totally Spies-The Movie. His voice has been used by Royal Bank, Microsoft, Pfizer, Subaru, CBC, Aleve, Cepacol, Air Transat, and Motorola. 

He’s appeared on Netflix/Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, Discovery Channel’s Mayday, Showcase’s Lost Girl, CBC’s Getting Along Famously, Showtime’s Queer As Folk and the Gemini nominated film From Time to Time. He also provided the motion capture for the lead character Hadyn in the PS4 game Dark Sector.

Jay is one of North America’s most prolific talent adjudicators and has judged and hosted over 200 talent competitions, pageants and festivals across the globe. He is the Owner/Host of Dance Attack Competition & Point of View Photo & Video. Jay is a member and contributor to the Professional Adjudicator Alliance manual, has written articles for The Agent’s Book and had a column in Dance Canada Quarterly. Jay is proud to serve on the Advisory for Wingman for Dance. He is a recipient of a Tyrone Guthrie Award and a Maud Whitmore Scholarship.

Jen Carter

Jen Carter began dancing at the age of 10 in Peterborough, Ontario. She trained competitively with Premiere Studio of Dance until the age of 19, where she trained in many dance styles. It wasn't until age 13 that Jen recognized her great passion for urban dance, and decided she wanted to further a career in the dance industry. She then went on to participate in the Integrated Arts Dance Program at Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational School, where she found her love of teaching and choreographing. Through out her high school journey she was presented with many opportunities including: competing in Hurley Walk the Walk in California, dancing on the Rick Mercer Report, 2 trips to New York City to train at Broadway Dance Centre and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, 6 different high school competitions (where she was awarded 2 scholarships and remembered for her many performances as well as pieces she choreographed), and multiple shows each year. She is now a member of the Toronto Dance Community after moving in September 2015. Fall of 2012 is when Jen’s teaching journey began. Her first opportunity was given to her at her home studio, where she began teaching ballet, jazz and tap to kids ages 3-5. Over the years her love for urban dance took the lead and she was hired to choreograph at several studios. Jen now teaches workshops for high school students, private lessons for special needs children, choreography for 3 competitive teams and subbing drop in classes at The Underground Dance Centre. Jen is currently at Centennial College in the Dance Performance Program, assisting Leah Totten and teaching at studios while building her name. With previous training in BOSS Dance Company (under the direction of Leah Totten), and Hot In Heels: The Company (under the direction of Angela Mahoney), she is very grateful for all of her opportunities. Jen has found that it is extremely important to take inspiration from everything and everyone around her as her goal has always been to inspire and touch those she comes in contact with. She looks forward to continuing her growth as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and person through her hard work and dedication to her craft.

Jessica Fallis

Jessica Fallis is a versatile dancer with a performance history that spans a variety of genres. She is a graduate of the Dance Performance Studies program at George Brown College, and since then, has traveled the world on a variety of performance/choreography contracts. Most recently, Jessica has been hired as part of the Tap faculty for The Canadian National Team, which will be competing in Sitge, Spain June 2018. Jessica was the Corporate Choreographer, soloist and dance captain for Club Maeva Resorts in Mexico for 2 and a half years. In 2006, Jessica traveled to Nagasaki, Japan on a 6-week performance contract at the prestigious Huis Ten Bosch resort. She was also a member of the 2004 Canadian National Tap Team, winning the Gold Medal in Reisa Germany, and spent the Summer of 2003 at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada’s Professional Summer School. Jessica’s artistic and inventive choreography has won her countless awards throughout her career. She choreographed and cast a children’s music video for CBC Kids, which is currently being aired across the country. For 3 years, Jessica was a member of the Toronto Rock Dance Team, performing to thousands at the Air Canada Centre. She was also head coach/choreographer for the Junior Dance Team, the “Junior Gems”. She was a member of the Tap Company “DownBeats” under the direction of Cathy Duncan for 3 years, and frequents Broadway Dance Centre in New York City, to continue her dance training. Performance credits include, “Coco Bongos”, Playa del Carmen, Mexico, “Much on Demand” with Jesse McCartney, Everett Smith’s Tap Flash Mob at Dundas Square, “Experience Impossibility Tour”, Ryan Joyce Magic Show, “The Award Winning Nickelodeon Parade” at Canada’s Wonderland, “La Bayadere” under the direction of Chan Hon Goh, Breakfast Television and YTV. Jessica is a certified teacher through the Performing Arts Educators of Canada in both Tap & Jazz. She is also a certified Acrobatics instructor through Acrobatic Arts. She enjoys adjudicating and sharing her wealth of knowledge with the future generation of dancers.

Julia Cratchley

Julia is originally from Richmond Hill, Ont. where she danced with Vlad’s Dance Company, and graduated from Unionville High School’s Arts York Dance Program.

Julia continued her training as a contemporary and classical artist in Vancouver, B.C, with Arts Umbrella’s Graduate Program under the direction of Artemis Gordon and Lynn Sheppard. Here she had the opportunity to work with internationally known choreographers, including Roberto Campanella, Emily Molnar, Serge Bennethon, and Robert Glumbek to name a few. She also had the chance to workshop with companies and choreographers such as [Bjm_danse] and O’vertigo in montreal, Ballet B.C in Vancouver, ProArteDanza in Toronto, Jill Johnston and Sidra Bell in New York as well as companies in Europe.

Julia has been lucky enough to be a part of Toronto dance company Helix Dance Project for three seasons now, and has assisted Linda Garneau with the process of ‘Rain’ ‘Verb.atim’ and ‘UnEarth’. She is a dancer and choreographer for Bridge to Artists which has now had three shows to date ‘Prima Volta’ ‘Senses’ and ‘On the Sawdust Trail’. She is most recently a company member of a Rutherford Movement Exchange’s Asension. Julia is a freelance dancer/choreographer and adjudicator and participates in many shows throughout the year. Julia Also teaches an open class at OIP dance centre in Toronto.

Kim Falconi

Kim Falconi is an accomplished, award winning teacher and choreographer in all forms of dance and acrobatics. She has performed on television and stage throughout her career. She is proud to have spent many years training as a triple threat performer which has led her to achieve many of her life time goals. Kim was a featured acrobat in the opera "Aida". She travelled to Cleveland where she was a member of the girls singing group "She Said" and is very happy to be a former "Miss Dance of Canada". 

Kim is a certified DMA teacher where in many of her students have been able to rank nationally in this organization. Some of her former students are now dancing in theatrical shows and companies across North America and Europe. Kim is a highly sought after adjudicator and choreographer, because of her strong technical background and commitment to the artistry of dance. She has been pleased to share her love and knowledge of dance with our students.

Kim’s choreography has been recognized both regionally and nationally and her students have held numerous national titles. Kim is best known for her skills and choreography teaching acro (gymnastic) style dance.

Lisa Auguste

Lisa Auguste is a multi-faceted performer working out of Toronto, Ontario. She has trained extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, modern, salsa, and all forms of hip-hop, she is also an avid teacher, choreographer and student of her craft. Lisa can be seen in the feature film `Shall We Dance` starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez, a zombie nurse in `Silent Hill 2`. She was a featured dancer on a `Russell Peters Christmas`, and apart of Canada's first top 6 SYTYCD. Lisa can also be seen in music videos for Shawn Desmond, Jully Black , Cascada, Our Lady Peace, Lauryn Taylor and Love Inc. Lisa was fortunate to play the role of the Cheetah in the Mirvish production of `The Lion King`, thrilled to be a part of the prestigious Canadian Opera Company's renditions of Aida and Nixon in China. And always honoured to be involved in Helix Dance Project's inaugural show `Integration, Evolve Verb.atim and Unearthed` choreographed by Linda Garneau. She has travelled through Europe, South America and the Caribbean as a dancer with both Royal Caribbean and Regal Empress cruislines. Lisa was honoured to be chosen to perform at the 2011 Pan and Para Pan American games in the closing ceremonies. Lisa has also worked for Remax, Mac Cosmetics, Maxim Magazine and Stop Line Productions in several live industrial and fashion shows. Currently Lisa is working as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and adjudicator throughout the GTA, where she is well known for her creative and disciplined style, with a touch of humour.

Reet Roy

Reet Roy is a professional Urban dance choreographer from Toronto and has become one of the most in-demand dance educator around the world. He is the Director of Canada's premiere Hip Hop company , Rhythm2dance and the faculty member for Millennium Dance Complex, Toronto. Reet had the honour of sharing his craft over in 12 countries and 48 cities over the past 6 years. He has adjudicated and taught masterclasses in USA, Canada, Hong Kong , Ukraine , Switzerland , Iceland , Denmark , France, Spain, Netherlands, India and Mexico. Reet started teaching at the age of 19 but soon after his style started getting recognition he got signed by DanceOn LA agency to pursue his Industry career as well. He was one of the judges for Europe’s Hip Hop International in Kiev, Ukraine. He has been on four European tours in the past 2 years where he had the honour of teaching and judging in multiple hip hop competitions and conventions in Europe. Reet also taught in the same Camp with some of the best dance urban/hip hop educators in the world. Reet has taught and Adjudicated with World of Dance fame Ian Eastwood (Young Lions ) , Scott Forsyth (BrotherHood Dance Company) , Adrian vendiola (Brotherhood dance company) , Jerome Esplana and Americas best Dance Crew winner Chachi Gonzales (IAmme) to name a few. Reet has always been about sharing his craft and style with different communities across the globe and he is looking forward to training the next generation of dancers who are hungry and dedicated to learn and grow with him.

Tara Pillon

Born and raised in Toronto, Tara Pillon is a professional dancer, choreographer, and dance educator. She graduated with honours from Ryerson University, where she received a BFA in Performance Dance. Tara also received her Certificate of Russian Ballet Pedagogy in Amsterdam, Netherlands. 

A highly sought-after teacher, choreographer, and adjudicator throughout the GTA, Tara currently teaches ballet at Toronto’s own, Millennium Dance Complex. She is also the Co- Artistic Director of ACE Dance Theatre, a professional contemporary dance company based out of Toronto. As well as The Ballet Lab, a comprehensive training program dedicated to developing and fortifying a dancer’s foundational technique. 

Tara has performed professionally with Ballet Creole, Gadfly’s Urban Dance Repertory Company, emiMOTION Dance Company, Human Body Expression, Avinoam Silverman Dance, and Creativiva. She can be seen dancing in the Hallmark film, “A Nutcracker Christmas”, as well as “Diversion”, a dance film by Avinoam Silverman. Tara has also choreographed with Creativiva for events such as the Italian Contemporary Film Festival, Ricarda’s Grand Opening, and the Allstate Honor Ring Banquet. Most recently, Tara choreographed for The Tenors’ latest music video.

Tracy Cairns-Sharpe

An accomplished performer, Tracy has appeared in many Stage productions including A Day In Hollywood/ A Night In The Ukraine(Nina), A Chorus Line (Cassie), La Cage Aux Folles (Anne),  California Suite (Gert), and has performed at Canada’s Wonderland, C.N.E., and Walt Disney World’s Epcot. Tracy is former member of T.O. Tap, a professional tap company formed by renowned tap choreographer Marion Hopkins. Some of Tracy’s choreographic credits include A Day In Hollywood/A Night In The Ukraine, Anything Goes, And The Winner Is…, Sound of Music, to name a few. In 2009 Tracy was fortunate to  have the opportunity to choreograph the Toronto premier of “Hey Marilyn”, a musical based on the life and career of Marilyn Monroe at The Jane Mallet theatre in Toronto. Tracy’s choreography has been seen all over the world including, Walt Disney World, Carnival Cruise Lines, Spain and Japan. Tracy has over 20 years of teaching behind her. Her students have won many top honors at regional, national and international competitions and many have gone on to dance professionally throughout North America. She is a fully certified Dance Teacher through the ADAPT Syllabus founded by Brian and Faye Folley.  Tracy has taught at numerous studios, and Post Secondary Educational Institutions throughout Ontario.  Tracy adjudicates for many competitions across North America and enjoys teaching at Turning Pointe Academy.

Taylor Roper

Taylor Roper is a professional performer who has been dancing since the age of six. He is highly trained in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Ballet, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre and hip hop. During his training he also studied in the music theatre program at Wexford Collegiate Institute for the Arts.

Taylor has worked for some of the industry's leading entertainment corporations. To name a few, he was a dancer, acrobat and aerialist for Royal Caribbean Cruiselines on the “Mariner Of The Seas” and the “Brilliance Of The Seas”. He was also a featured dancer in the cirque inspired show “Mystic Rhythms” at Tokyo DisneySea. Taylor has had the opportunity to dance for New York’s finest Patti Wilcox, Gabriela Rodgers at the Arts for life Gala in Mississauga, the Guelph Contemporary Festival, and The Bazaar to name a few industrials. He has also spent a year living in Belgium dancing in a reputable contemporary company and teaching workshops and master classes throughout Belgium and Holland. He was also featured on the television series “The Ultimate Dance Battle”.

As a competitive dancer, Taylor has captured numerous titles including Mr. Dance and Teen Mr. Dance of Canada for CDMA, Dancer of the Year for American Dance Awards and was also the highest scoring male soloist for can dance in 2007 and had the opportunity to travel and perform in Spain.

Taylor is a sought after dance instructor and choreographer for many dance studios, high schools and dance conventions throughout Canada. He also  taught dance classes for the Toronto and Durham district school board. His students have won many regional and national titles and he has choreographed many award winning routines across Ontario. He is also currently a choreographer for “World Performers Canada”. Taylor is a certified member of the International Academy of Dance Adjudicators and adjudicates throughout Ontario, British Columbia and the United States.

His award winning choreography has earned his students countless awards at high level competitions including "Junior dance off winners" at Candance competition, "Top scoring routines" of entire competitions at Bedazzled, Starcatchers, Move, Dance Canada and many more, Nothern stars senior dance-off winners, Junior/Teen/Senior "dancer of the year " soloist winners at American Dance Awards, On the floor Senior ultimate dancer winner and runner up at the ultimate finals, and numerous Diamond choreography awards at American Dance Awards to name a few.

He is a firm believer that technique and creative style are extremely important in the development of a dancer. He challenges his students with his motivating spirit and creative style to bring out their inner potential. With his strong acrobatic background, he prides himself on creating athletic dancers with a strong and captivating presence.

Jeff Wong

As owners & Directors of DANCE INC, this husband and wife team are truly unstoppable! Their goal is to inspire young dancers to persue their dreams and reach their goals! Both Jeff & Breanne have studied in all styles of dance, performed all over North America and been a part of the Dance industry for more than 20 years working in movies, commercials and live performances. They are constantly reinventing themselves to be at the top of their game.

Their teaching & choreography is what sets this duo apart from the rest! They are best known for inspiring young dancers through their passion and creative teaching skills! These two are dedicated to bringing their students and studio to the next level!

Building the studio on the foundation of “Inspiring One Child at a Time” Jeff & Breanne have done exactly that, inspiring many of their dancers to go onto professional careers in the dance industry!

Their competitive company dancers are taken to great heights throughout each and every competitive season. Allison Toffan

Allison Toffan has established herself as a leader in the Canadian tap dance scene by consistently stirring up momentum as a producer, curator, dancer and choreographer. Her mentors include world-renowned tap dance artists Heather Cornell, Brenda Bufalino, and Max Pollak. 

Her work has been presented at Fall For Dance North, Dusk Dances, The Edwards Summer Music Series, Toronto Body Percussion Festival, TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival, and the Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival. Other career highlights include: 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies, TapCity (NYC) and Vancouver International Tap Festival with Lisa La Touche, Festival Dance Encore with Tasha Lawson, Montreal Tap Festival’s Rhythm Lives! with Tanya Knights alongside living legend Arthur Duncan, and establishing the Toronto Rhythm Initiative [TRI] - a platform Allison created to voice the artistry of Toronto’s tap dancers in collaboration with live music.

Teaching credits include: Artist in Residence - Ottawa Rhythm Initiative, Dance Faculty at Sheridan College, Randolph Academy, Montreal Tap Festival, Vancouver International Tap Festival, BC Performing Arts Festival, Manitoba Dance Festival, Eastern Canadian Tap Conference, MOVE and The Dance Project conventions, as well as multiple workshops across Canada.

Other notable projects include The Big Band Tap Revue - created with Toronto Jazz Orchestra’s Artistic Director Josh Grossman, co-produced by Soraya Peerbaye and directed by Emmy Award winner Ted Louis Levy, and dancing on the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed video game Cuphead, nominated for a 2018 Juno award for best orchestration. 

Allison was thrilled to bring the vision of the Toronto International Tap Dance Festival to fruition June of 2017. The inaugural festival marked the official launch of Toffan Rhythm Projects - bridging the goals, mandates, and facilitation of her professional body of work rooted in collaboration, creation, curation, and community development.

Allison is currently working on plans for the 2020 Toronto International Tap Dance Festival. Stay tuned for more updates, and news on other upcoming projects!

Sarah Nolan

Sarah was classically trained in ballet having graduated from Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division with Distinction. She went on to dance professionally with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for three years until an injury forced an untimely career change. Sarah’s performances include Giselle, The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake, Concerto Barrocco, Les Patineurs, Seventh Symphony, and Deuce Coupe. She was also cast as the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty and performed a solo variation in the ballet Paquita. In 1996, Sarah attended the Professional Ballet Program at the Banff Festival of the Arts in Banff, Alberta.

Sarah made the transition from dancer to teacher and choreographer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where she received her professional teacher’s certification from the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England. While residing in the prairies some of her career highlights include founding the Saskatchewan Contemporary Ballet (SCB) and serving on the artistic team of Dare to Dance. Since moving to Ottawa, Sarah has had the opportunity to be the resident choreographer for Les Petits Ballets, a youth performing company located in Ottawa.

Sarah is thrilled to be launching into DanceRoots’ 8th season and is excited for the opportunity to share her experience and passion with her students!

Trish Thompson-Creamer

Trish has studied various dance disciplines as well as competitive artistic gymnastics.  She began her training as a gymnast and became well-established as a coach and judge for the Ontario Gymnastics Federation.  Having this gymnastic background, Trish’s dance teaching and choreography is recognized for its athleticism and acrobatics throughout North America.

Trish is the founder and artistic director of the Rythum Plus Dance Company which is celebrating 26 years in Stoney Creek, ON.  Her dancers have attained a high level of prestige on the competitive dance circuit including holding national titles for Dance Masters of America and American Dance Awards. These titles include Miss Dance of America 2008, Junior Mister Dance of America 2010, Teen Miss Dance of America 2011, Teen Mister Dance of America 2013, Miss Dance of America 2013, and Junior Miss Dance of America 2019 for all of Dance Masters of America.  Trish has also had dancers achieve Junior Dancer of the Year and Young Dancer of the Year for American Dance Awards.  In the professional world, her students have seen much success performing on cruise ships, stage, television, and film as dancers, actors, singers, and circus artists.  Most recently, her dancers and choreography will be featured in Season 6 of the Family Channel’s hit TV show, The Next Step.  Trish has also appeared online as a guest teacher for CLI Studios on a number of occasions. 

Being enthusiastic about dance education, Trish holds a number of certifications with several organizations and is a nationally renowned dance instructor, choreographer, and adjudicator. As a member of Dance Masters of Canada Chapter #38, she is a certified acrobatics examiner and is currently president of the chapter.  Also a course conductor for Acrobatic Arts, Trish was instrumental in the creation of its Module 3 syllabus and has recently completed her examiner’s course – a course where registration is by invitation only.

Trish strives to show dancers their full potential and hopes that her passion drives them to be the best artists they can be.  She hopes that her love for the art of dance will continue for years to come and looks forward to another exciting and successful season with the Rythum Plus Dance Company.

Tiffani Beauparlant

Tiffani Beauparlant is from St. Catharines, Ontario.  She has been a part of the dance world since the age of 7.  She has been teaching at Rythum Plus Dance Company since 1999 and teaches for the District School Board of Niagara where she runs the dance program at A.N. Myer Secondary School. At Rythum Plus, she specializes in tap but also teaches jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and turning technique.  She is a certified Tap (examiner), Jazz and Acro teacher with Dance Masters of America Chapter #38. She has a Bachelor of Arts in French (specialist) from Brock University, a dance specialist from York University, and a Canadian teacher certification from D’Youville College in Buffalo. 

As a dancer, Tiffani has toured with Hoctor’s “Dance Caravan” as a Caravan Kid and assistant to Barry YoungBlood.  She was also a proud member of the Canadian National Tap Team who won the silver medal at the IDO World Tap Championships in Reisa, Germany (2000).  She ventured into the modelling world as an adult and can be seen in several infomercials and commercials and walked the runway in many Bridal Shows.

Tiffani is a successful teacher and choreographer. Her students have won numerous overall high score awards as well as regional titles for Dance Masters of Canada and American Dance Awards.  She is the teacher of recognition of “Junior Mr Dance of Canada 2018”, “Master Dance of Canada 2016”, “Teen Miss Dance of Canada 2004”, “Junior Miss Dance of Canada 2003”,  "Teen Dancer of the Year 2003”, and “Junior Dancer of the Year 2002”.  Tiffani’s choreography has been featured in many shows including M.A.C makeup’s “Fashion Cares” as well as the “Greg Frewin Las Vegas Magic Review” in Niagara Falls and most recently she has done the off-ice dance training for the Canadian National Synchronized Skating Team – Nexxice.

Tiffani also enjoys sharing her love for dance by adjudicating many competitions throughout Canada as she is a part of the Professional Adjudicators' Alliance.

Nicole Marsh

Nicole Marsh has been a dance teacher for over 12 years at various studios throughout the GTA. Certified through Acrobatic Arts Canada and Canadian Dance Teacher Association, Nicole is a sought out choreographer specializing in Acro, Jazz, Lyrical and Technique classes. In 2018 she was the choreographer for Chess The Musical for City Centre Musical Theatre Group. As a competitive dance teacher and choreographer she has been the recipient of numerous judges choice awards, choreography awards and overall winning routines. A graduate from Cawthra Park Secondary School majoring in dance, as well as McMaster University holding a honours degree in Political Science and Communications. Nicole has always been passionate about dance and especially teaching. Her goal is to share her knowledge with students and help them develop their own love and appreciation for dance. Not every dancer will go down the professional route, however there are many life skills taught and gained through committed dance training. Over her career Nicole has witnessed a growing need to expose her students to complimentary training methods to dance. She hopes that by bringing APEX Total Dance Intensive to everyone that dancers will gain a better understanding of their bodies and their potential of movement.

Kim O’Neill

Kim O'Neill is an established dancer, teacher, choreographer, and Graduate from the University of Western Ontario. She is trained extensively in all dance disciplines, having been trained under the direction of Matthew Clark.  She is the proud owner of the O’Neill Academy of Dance, in her home town of London, Ontario.

Kim continues to peruse her dance career, represented by Da Costa Talent Agency in Toronto.  With more than 15 years of professional work under her belt, Kim has become a well- established dancer and performer.  Kim began her professional career as a featured dancer for the Helix Dance Project, under the direction of Linda Garneau.  Kim has performed at numerous co-orperate industrial shows including the Bell Celebrity Gala, Crystal Ball Charity Event, C.I.M Awards, Contessa Awards, Steve Nash Charity Event, World Pride, Hold Em’ for Life Gala, Gilda Awards (dancing alongside Eric McCormack), Mary Kay Event Gala (2016/ 2018), Chandelier Ball” (Elgin Theatre’s 100th anniversary spectacular ), and the 2018 Goldwell Fashion show, under the direction of re-known choreographer Kevan Allen, to name a few. Kim completed a series of appearances on CBC's "Over the Rainbow (Sean Cheeseman),” "Warehouse 13’s” finale episode of “42nd Street,” The Strain, Beauty and The Beast, Bomb Girls (CTV), and “Canada’s Smartest Person.”  Kim can be seen in the motion pictures "Save the Last Dance 2: Steppin Up,” and "Camp Rock.”  She also had the pleasure of working on the hit TV series "Schitt's Creek" as a skeleton crew dancer, and Assistant to the choreographer (Jeff Dimitriou), for 2 featured dance scenes for season 5 of the t.v series.  Kim also had the pleasure of assisting Jeff Dimitriou with the off- ice training and choreography for Canadian Ice Dance Champions, Paul Poirier and Piper Giles.  Kim was also a top 100 finalist for the Canadian Premiere of So You Think You Can Dance, Canada.

Kim’s theatre credits include: Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Song and Dance", Drayton Entertainment's, Aladdin, Cinderella (DC), Robin Hood (DC), Peter Pan (DC), Dance Legends 2010 / 2011 (DC), Big Band Legends (DC), Rock n’ Roll Legends (DC), Dance Legends at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario (Assistant Choreographer  / DC), Return to Grace (RGA Productions) at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in 2014 / 2017, the Princess of Wales theatre in 2019, and at the Fallsview Casino (2015, 2017, and 2019).  Kim was also thrilled to join the Canadian National Tour of Return to Grace in 2015 / 2016, as well as, continue the tour in Bangkok, Thailand (2015). A highlight for Kim was dancing as a soloist for Canadian Country Music Star / Singer, Chad Brownlee, at the 2016 Canadian Country Music Awards (Choreographer / Soloist dancer).

Tori Mehaffey

TORI MEHAFFEY is a dance performer, choreographer and educator situated in Toronto, Ontario. She received her BFA diploma through Ryerson University’s Performance Dance Program. Tori is the recipient of Ryerson Theatre School’s Dance Performance Award as well as the Lawrence Gradus Choreographic Scholarship. This artist is a two time Dora Awards nominee for Outstanding Female Performance in Dance and for Ensemble Performance.

Tori Mehaffey performs for Toronto based dance companies; ProArteDanza, Citadel + Compagnie and Transcen|Dance Project. She has been a guest artist for several projects with Gadfly Urban Dance Company, TOES for Dance and Alysa Pires Dance Project. She has performed for artists such as James Kudelka, Laurence Lemieux, Matjash Mrozewski, Kevin O’Day, Robert Glumbek, Roberto Campanella, Hanna Kiel and Linda Garneau. Tori has had the opportunity to perform original works by artists such as; Guillaume Cote, Johannes Weiland, Bryan Arias, Victor Quijada and co-founders of MADBOOTS DANCE – Jonathan Campbell and Austin Diaz.

Tori’s interest in researching movement has lead her to study in places such as; b12, Berlin; ImPulsTanz, Vienna; Springboard Danse, Montreal; Henny Jurriens Foundation, Amsterdam; and RUBBERBANDANCE Group Intensives, Quebec.

With an interest in creating her own visions – Tori has explored/showcased her work as part of; ProArteDanza’s Apprenticeship Summer Programs, Kenny Pearl’s Emerging Artist Intensive, Ryerson University’s Springworks, Canada’s Ballet Jorgen Movement Research Program, Ryerson University’s Emerging Artist Choreographic Lab Series, Wind Down Dance Toronto, Nadia Potts Lifetime Achievement Awards and The National Ballet of Canada’s Choreographic Workshop. Tori’s most recent professional work was a commissioned project by Laurence Lemieux for Citadel + Compagnie as part of their Bright Nights series.

Tori is looking forward to beginning her journey as a choreographer with World Performers Canada Inc.

Ryan Foley

Ryan Foley has had the opportunity to study and perform with many talented artists over the years. Ryan currently teaches and performs in Toronto with the Toronto Rhythm Initiative, City Dance Corps, the Tap Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex and his family owned studio Performing Dance Arts. He has worked with TRI in many live shows since their conception in 2011, featuring music from a wide range of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles and many more. In summer of 2013 Ryan was a featured artist at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival and performed in Tap Internationals as part of the NYC Tap City Festival. Ryan’s most recent venture's have been guest teacher and performer at ECTC (Eastern Canadian Tap Conference ) as well as a guest teacher and performer in Tapper Fest. Ryan also participated as an original cast member in Love.Be.Best.Free, a full-length tap show in Vancouver choreographed by Danny Nielsen. In August of 2014 Ryan returned to Vancouver as a gust teacher and performer at the Vancouver International Tap Festival..In December 2014 Ryan was one of five featured tap dancers to perform in the very first "Big Band Tap Review" a full length show featuring tap dancers performing alongside an 18 piece big band "The Toronto Jazz Orchestra" conducted by the director of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival Josh Grossman. In August 2015 Ryan was one of the performers of the first installment of "Rhythm and Sound" produced by Cori Giannotta and Johnathan Morin. In October 2015 Ryan returned as a featured performer and choreographer in "The Eastern Canadian Tap Conference". In November 2015 Ryan performed in the second installment of "The Big band Tap Review" which this time was directed by tony award winner Ted Louis Levy from NYC. In February 2016 Ryan was also a featured solo performer in "Putting on the Ritz" hosted by TheArt House. In February 2017 Ryan returned to BC to remount Love. Be. Best. Free. for a 6 week tour which closed with raved reviews. This past June Ryan was a featured performer in two shows that premiered at the first Toronto International Tap dance Festival choreographed by Diane Montgomery and Johnathan Morin. This August Ryan returns to Boston as a guest teacher and performer at Tap united featuring tap dancers from across the globe. Ryan will be performing at the Toronto Rhythm Initiative's annual show showcasing the music of "Prince" and will also be a featured performer and choreographer in “Illumination” Rhythm And Sound’s annual summer showcase. Ryan is also the producer of “Escapade” an annual showcase of the funds and features Canadian choreographers, dancers, singers, actors and musicians. Ryan’s last live performance was February 1st 2020 “Unplugged” produced by Rhythm and Sound.

Ryan continues to practice, teach, perform and share his passion for the dance.

Victoria Miller

Victoria’s love for tap dance is rooted in the intersection between music, improvisation, and authentic expression. With continued training in tap dance technique, music theory, and collaboration with musicians, she strives to create work for dancers that connect these pillars. Victoria’s goals in working with dancers are to showcase their strengths, challenge where they may lack, and elevate their technique, musicality, and an overall approach of how to use tap dance to express themselves.  

Victoria’s experience includes the Residency Program for the Toronto International Tap Dance Festival (directed by Allison Toffan) where she trained and danced with tap dance powerhouses Ted Louis Levy, Allison Toffan, and Tanya Knights alongside fellow emerging artists from across Canada. As a member of the tap dance company The Rhythm Ensemble Pre-Professional division (directed by Juliana Kelly), she deepened her ear in jazz music through tap dance, improvisation, historical research, and workshops with live musicians. She holds a teaching certification with B.A.T.D.

Jac Valiquette

Whether in the commercial dance space or choreographing award-winning competitive numbers, Jac Valiquette always strives to take the viewer on a journey with her choreography. Utilizing her multidisciplinary dance background, Jac strives to create memorable bodies of work that can be enjoyed by all audiences.

With almost 10 years of teaching experience under her belt, Jac is currently a regular faculty member at Studio North Toronto & The Underground Dance Centre as well as a variety of other competitive studios across the GTA. She teaches a wide range of ages from 5 to professional in a variety of styles and has a true passion for teaching. She has taught at numerous conventions and camps across the country with internationally renowned choreographers such as Luther Brown, Tony Tzar, Tucker Barkley, Josh Williams, and many more. Her work has also been featured at some of Toronto’s largest commercial dance shows such as Fever After Dark, Toronto’s Original Choreographer’s Ball, the Bazaar Dance Showcase, The Industry Night, and many more. Jac has recently launched her all-female group Kode Red and the accompanying training tier Kode Red Academy in Toronto & is excited to continue the journey with them.

Sarah Sordoni

Sarah is an inspiring, compassionate and successful dance educator and business woman who has been an instrumental part of arts education in her community. As a young dancer she trained at the prestigious Quinte Ballet School in Belleville and she is an Honours graduate, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ryerson University in Toronto.

Sarah is the Co-Owner of The Dream Centre in Waterdown, Ontario and the Director of the ‘Live Dream Dance’ recreational and competitive programming within the facility. Sarah has grown her dance studio from 50 students in two small rooms to a 20,000 sq/ft indoor sports facility with classes in dance, gymnastics, martial arts, musical theatre, adult fitness, before and after school care and post partum programs for Moms. Her successful business model now services thousands and employs nearly 40 faculty members.

Before taking on the role of business owner, Sarah’s performing arts career led her to some incredible opportunities to dance and perform in shows such as: Impact (Deerhurst Resort), Cinderella (Stirling Festival Theatre), Little Red Riding Hood (Stirling Festival Theatre), Beauty and the Beast (Stage West Mississauga) and Cats (Stirling Festival Theatre) . Sarah is also an accomplished pianist, as well as, a singer who was a lead singer for the Whitney Smith Jazz Big Band that travelled throughout North America.

As a dance educator, Sarah’s students train hard and achieve immense success. Sarah’s competition dance team has won numerous accolades such as: National and International Solo Titles, Top Scoring Group Routines, Top Choreography, Top Studio Awards, as well as, several gold, silver and bronze medals at The Dance World Cup in both Spain and Portugal and World Tap Championships in Germany.

Sarah’s most current project is a content author for the LEAP dance platform, Live Dream Dance, which is a recreational dance curriculum that will be available to dance educators around the globe.

 

Sheona Bell

Sheona Bell is a graduate of the Dance Program at the University of Waterloo and Canada’s National Ballet School, where she was awarded her Teacher Training Certificate. Miss Bell has her Advanced II Cecchetti standing and is a Fellowship Member of the Cecchetti Society. Her training encompasses a wide variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and Contemporary. Miss Bell finds great reward in sharing knowledge of dance with students and has developed a high standard of technique in the studio. Students under her supervision have continued their training at The Juilliard School and Joffrey School of Ballet in New York City, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Canada’s National Ballet School, and Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Miss Bell is always proud to see students grow with confidence, grace and, strength.

Alan Cruz

Dancer, gymnast and choreographer. A World Champion, Alan is part of “Team Mexico” which won the gold medal at The Dance Worlds in 2017. WIth more than 9 years of experience teaching all different kinds of levels and ages, basing his Jazz technique in jumps, leaps, turns, tricks and acrobatics. As a choreographer, Alan has professional and competitive experience both nationally and internationally in Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary.

His training includes summer intensives, master classes, workshops and dance conventions in renowned schools such as Broadway Dance Center, Steps of Broadway, Millenium Dance Complex, and Edge Performing Arts Center.

Oswaldo Cantú

Throughout his training as a dancer for more than 15 years in different workshops, conventions and schools such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Millenium Dance Complex, Edge Performing Arts Center, among others.

• He has been part of National and International Artists, participating as a dancer.

• He has been cast in many musicals, show events, TV shows and different performances

• Choreographer of different types of shows, working with artists, commercials for recognized brands and he has been part of different activities in the entertainment industry.

• Choreographer in national and international dance competitions, he is recognized with different types of special awards with excellent results, getting High Score achieving the Tops.

• Currently Teacher and choreographer in the city of Monterrey Mexico trained in techniques as Street jazz, Commercial, Jazz Funk, teaching workshops in different schools and conventions within in México and other countries such as the USA and Colombia.

Marcela Trevino Arce

An innovator and entrepreneur, Marcela is the founding director of The Tap Company Mexico, Mexico´s first professional tap company. Likewise, she is the founding director of The Tap Company Junior, a tap dance ensemble that encourages the development and education of committed tap dancers who impulse tap dance culture in Mexico. 

She is the co-director and choreographer of Equipo de Tap Mexico, national team established in 2016 which represented Mexico in December 2017 and 2018. In April 2019, Marcela joined World Performers Mexico as a choreographer for the Tap National Team which represented Mexico during the summer of 2019.

As a choreographer, Marcela has won the highest awards at the World stages winning 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal for Mexico at the World Championships IDO 2017, IDO 2018 and Dance World Cup 2019. In the summer of 2019, Marcela´s choreography was awarded the Most Outstanding Solo Award at the World Dance Championship, one of the highest international recognitions offered in the dance World arena.

Marcela is the producer and director of the Monterrey Tap Fest and the Tap Live Concert, one of the most sought out tap festivals in the World which reunites the World´s best tap dancers offering classes, conferences and shows. Both events, on their opening in 2016, were the first of its kind ever to be offered in Mexico.  

Marcela has directed and choreographed the shows “Tap Souls” & “Tap Souls – Evolve”, which have been exhibited in massive events such as Festival Santa Lucia (one of Mexico´s most important cultural festivals), Ted Talks, and Israel´s Good Deeds Day. 

Marcela is a star faculty member and dance judge for TDR, Mexico´s most important dance convention and competition. Between 2014 and 2016, Marcela travelled though USA and Costa Rica as a faculty member for Sheer Talent. 

As a certified tap dance teacher from the University of Nevada, Dance Educators of America and the American Tap Dance Foundation, Marcela makes national and international tours through Mexico and abroad offering workshops, choreography and master classes.

Yazmin Gonzalez

With more than 20 years of experience in Jazz, Lyrical and Technique. Part of her training involves dance teacher certification programs with Universidad de Monterrey, MADAN, and Dance Teacher University (incorporated with UNLV).

For more than 10 years, Yazz worked as the director of the dance department of Instituto San Roberto, considered as one of the time, she was part of the faculty of the Meritas Festival which took place in Switzerland and Florida.

A master teacher, invited to teach nationally all throughout Mexico; Yazz is regularly seen as a dance judge in several competitions in the country.

Nowadays she is part of the teacher faculty of DS Dance studio and Ale Moncillas Dance Studio, where she is also the coordinator of the Elite Teams.
